Shotblasting has a wide variety of
potential uses:
The largest use for shotblasting is to prepare a
surface for re-coating using paints, varnish or powder coatings.
Often used on hardwoods to stress or clean
them. This will give the wood an antique effect. Oak
framed buildings are commonly given this treatment.
Used on metal where heavy rust is present and has
started to penetrate the metal. Shotblasting will clean and also
remove all rust, thus preventing any rust re-appearing through
the new topcoat.
Used on brickwork, concrete or stone to remove
weathering effects or graffiti.
Common shotblasting applications
Automotive, commercial and plant machinery
Garden furniture and tools
Cast iron and mild steel radiators
Oak framed buildings, roofing beams and wood flooring.
